Our friend Helen - such a beautiful lady, inside and out.

A few heartfelt words...

Our friend Helen was sadly taken away from this life on Tuesday the 7th of March 2023 after a short battle with bowel cancer. She was just 54 years old.

Helen, supported by her family and closest friends, had fought tirelessly showing enormous strength, determination, and courage. After just 18 months she lost the bravest of battles passing away peacefully under the care and compassion of the wonderful staff at St. Rocco’s Hospice in Warrington.  Her sister Carole and her closest friends, Carole, Julie, and Charline stayed right by her side as she grew her heavenly wings.

Family – Her family meant the world to her.  She was younger sister to Carole, and sister-in-law to John making her ‘Auntie Helen’ to both Lisa and Faye (John’s daughters) and their extended families.  They’ve enjoyed many good times together through family gatherings and holidays to many beautiful places including Abersoch a little village in Wales and Lindos on Rhodes in the Greek Islands.

Although Helen didn't marry and have a family of her own, we know that she enjoyed lots of good times with her family and the many school and work friends that she had made throughout her life.  Helen or ‘H’ as she was more affectionately known to many of her closest friends was the truest of friends - reliable, dependable, funny, kind, compassionate, caring, and would do anything to help her friends and those she held dear.

In 1997 Helen and Carole as firm friends decided to get a puppy each - their Westie siblings, Dillon and Georgy, and spent 14/18 years of walks, babysitting, canal boat holidays, pubs, and suchlike adventures.

Work - Helen started work in 1985 at Avco Trust, a finance house, where she met Carole and their friendship began.  After Avco closed, Helen moved to a competitor HFC and in 1996 merged with Beneficial Bank, before they too closed.

Helen started at Kalzip in late 1998 where she met and quickly formed special friendships with Debra, Julie, and Charline – who knew they would remain friends for some 25 years!

In September 2006 Helen took on a special project with work - she flew out to Chicago to help Dan Vinet set up the new offices in The States, she was there for 3 months helping to get the office established, colleagues trained, and set up on new sales systems.  Then in 2019 Helen left Kalzip for a short time, going to work at both YKK & Tremco forming great friendships with Sara and Caroline, before going back to Kalzip in 2021 – a place where she had made many friends and was most happy working - for more than 20 years in total!  Kalzip provided a much-needed ‘lifeline’ for her as it was only a short time before she was diagnosed and the support that she received from the ‘Kalzip family’ (both past and present) we know has been something she took great strength from and really appreciated.  On her behalf, we’d like to say thank you so much!

Travel – Helen absolutely loved to travel and has holidayed in places including; Hong Kong, India, Africa, America, Jamaica, Greece, Cyprus and Tunisia, and more recently spent a lot of time on Anglesey with her lifelong friend Carole and her husband Jeff.

St. Rocco’s Hospice – Wow what a special place that is!  St. Rocco's was Helen’s ‘safe place’ since her diagnosis and they have shown enormous support to her, her family, and her friends - particularly in recent months.  If you wish to make any donations in Helen’s memory they would be gratefully received.

Helen was much loved by her friends and we will always, always remember her. We have shared with you some of our fondest memories with Helen in the photo gallery.

Fly high now sweet angel – we will never forget you.

Good night, God bless sweetheart.

Carole, Julie, Charline and Debra
